Jerry Jay Jolly-Pike’s Creek Trail System 8 miles | Trail Difficulty: Moderate Owned/managed by Bayfield County and Mt. Ashwabay Outdoor Education Foundation
The Star Route parking lot is the jumping off point for accessing 8 miles of groomed cross-county ski trails. Please purchase a trail pass from Ashwabay if you would like to explore their trail system. These trails traverse the land Mr. Jerry Jay Jolly donated; his family, throughg trail easements, maintains the 160-acre parcel south of Pike’s Creek. To the south and west, the trails meander over 1,000 acres of Bayfield County Forest, Wisconsin’s Nourse Sugarbush State Natural Area, and the Mt. Ashwabay Recreational Area.
Directions: From Bayfield, take Hwy 13 South one-half mile to County J. Turn right and go 1.3 miles to the 4-way stop. Continue straight on Star Route for 2.3 miles to the Jerry Jolly/Pike’s Creek parking lot. This left turn is marked by a small, brown “hiker” sign on your right.
